Martin Bennett BA (Hons) Counselling. MBACP, MACC
I have an integrative approach to counselling. I draw on a number of theories and disciplines to best serve a client’s issues. I am fundamentally ‘person centred’ which gives full autonomy to the client, so they always feel in control.
I use Attachment Theory to explore issues in the past that may be impacting the present. I use Systemic Theory to seek understanding on current dysfunction in one area of life and the impact it has on others. I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to challenge negative and destructive thought patterns.
My personal experience brings a breadth and depth to my therapeutic role and I have yet to come across a client who I couldn’t empathise with and help in their journey.
